Brand New Release Today....

And I remembered that moment . I was taken back to that place in an instant and I could almost feel again that light of the sun as it was softly touching the snow. And the clouds were passing by. Everything was just sublime and beautiful. Winter is like that, a season of preparing, a time of apparent death but contrarily full of life that is about to begin.  Even though you might not see it. Everything is happening, when it seems like nothing is. The old of the past season is giving room for the new growth in the next one, but neither the old nor the new can be without each other. Just like here.

ISABELLA GARAFFA

ISABELLA GARAFFA - her WINTER Collection 2023 has blown away all expectations... .

Isabella Garaffa was born in Asuncion, Paraguay,   She now lives and creates her artwork in Snowmass Village, where she has been residing for the last many years.  Her most treasured childhood memories are directly connected to her strong passion for the wilderness, which is translated throughout her artwork in very intense detail. Seeing Aspen trees for the first time at the age of twenty two, gave her a fresh approach to recreate them in her studio in later years.

“Wisdom” 48 x 60 in. This past February I was running my favorite trail in Snowmass; An aerobic Nightmare, part of the Tom Blake trail and Government trail. It has been an incredible winter this season so the snow was not lacking anywhere you looked , but we were blessed once again with a huge snowstorm within the last couples of days that week. I took hundreds of pictures on that hike, I will probably keep painting them throughout the following years. As I was on my way down, fingers frozen from taking off my gloves to take pictures and my toes completely wet from the snow getting into my socks and runnings shoes, I didn’t care. Froze bite? I’ll deal with that later ! - I thought to myself. This moment is too beautiful to let it pass just because I’m in pain. I put my phone away and kept running down that trail, knowing the right moment will come to me and thus let me know - you can paint this now… I always wait for that moment. Last week I was ready to paint something completely different. But some divine interruptions kept happening to let me know I needed to change directions and paint something else. I sat on my chair in my studio uncertain about what to do, until scrolling through the pictures on my phone I run across this one. The dead trees, have to die on the ground so new ones can grow, and so it repeats with the years. Wisdom is a little like that. Is like the ground in the forest, it uses everything. Even those things that at a quick eyesight might look useless, are the most important ones to bring life. The wisdom of God, brings beauty out of ashes.
