My art is my most genuine effort to bring you back to the places I love, so the beauty I see doesn’t just end with me. I paint in a way that what you see, makes you feel that you are in that moment. Present. Right there with me.

I didn’t grow up in the mountains. I never touched snow until I was 22 and I’ve never knew there was such a beautiful tree like #aspentrees until I came to Aspen for the first time in 2007. Little did I know that this place I thought was going to be only a season of my life would become my permanent home. But what I never even imagined, was that in this place my inner call to create would be sparked inside of me like boiling water in a tea pot that can’t be contained. So why do I keep painting Aspen trees? Because I’m fascinated by them. That’s the short and simple answer. To me, Aspen trees are the main protagonist in this place. They make everything I see a show of lights as if they were luminescent pillars in the woods. I paint what I paint because if I don’t, I will be miserable and more than anything I would feel such deep disappointment when all the beauty I see is not being share with the world. I enjoy being by myself when I’m exploring the mountains, but if that’s where all ends how sad that would be. My art is my most genuine effort to bring you back to the places I love, so the beauty I see doesn’t just end with me. I paint in a way that what you see, makes you feel that you are in that moment. Present. Right there with me. So though I spend a lot of hours alone in the forests, I share that moment with hundreds and hundreds of people all over the world. And that is just awesome. This painting right here, is traveling time from the day I skied this run on #snowmass into years and years to come. All the wonderful beauty I saw is now stamped into the canvas of eternity. Enjoy
