'Tough love' (84x96) could end up being the most important Artwork we ever have in the Gallery... It is not only part of the first, but the Largest Artwork Michel Mirabal created on the US soil for the Aspen Art Gallery! Pure Celebration. 

It is the most significant of the works he created by its size, technique and meaning... A piece of history!

The ambiguous relationship between the two countries is one of Michel's main fascinations  (read more about his career). It's had a crucial impact on the context that he and his generation grew up in. In his Artwork, Michel leaves a descriptive testimony of this relationship. Michel has a emerged as a beacon for the relations between our countries, always pushing for more cooperation (read more about his credit card project, or the aircraft he decorated). 

We are proud to have initiated the creation of the collection by flying Michel into Aspen. He gratefully gave back to the Aspen community by using our two local newspapers for the background of 'Tough Love'... Once again, Aspen makes history! Michel is willing to look at the truth directly in the eyes. "No country is perfect",  there is always problems... But there is also the love and hope that holds the world together. By his technique, concept and even the material he uses (read more), Michel subtly examines the two facets of each country. Highlighting the very essence of the other through our differences.
