TYLER SEAN: His message, his technique, his Art...
Two days after the Aspen Art Gallery made a commitment to Tyler Sean, he won the Best Rising Artist Prize in Spectrum/ArtBasel Miami.
His master piece 'Ali Float' (62x48), is currently (early Feb 2018) in the front window of the Gallery and is acting as a true magnet! His images are shaped by what looks like the juxtaposition of several gray tones layers... They actually are the result of hundreds of hours of hand carved stencil work!
Tyler Sean impresses us for many reasons but his hand crafted, unique technique is at the forefront. He invented his own process (read more).
"My pieces aren't really collage. I developed a new process, kind of organically through trial and error. And because it's new, my work is different than every other artists. I think the difference can be seen most in the aesthetic. Many people assume my works are computer generated or replications. However, each piece is a hand done original made from scratch. " - TYLER SEAN
for his creation 'Business of Sincere Expression' (49x49), Tyler used this technique to apply Benjamin Franklin's face on Mao and to explore ongoing themes of Money, power and Art.
Being an Artist is a lifestyle... "I think more than anything, my technique is a reflection of how i operate in all facets of life. It comes very naturally to me, which is why i think I was able to develop it in the first place. " TYLER SEAN
"I want to be an example of someone doing what they want to do in life, and gaining a real sense of purpose and free will from doing so. " - TYLER SEAN
