CHRISTOPHER OWEN NELSON - his talent is infinite.
Christopher Owen Nelson is an Innovator, an explorer and....A conqueror! His use of a wide range of materials, triggers the question, "What is that?"... When you hear Elvis for the first time, you listen. Chris demands the viewers time and attention like no other, connecting the dots between man and nature.
In his sculptural work, nature is thrust before us like we are noticing it for the first time.... bold colors and reflective surfaces...
Christopher has many years experience in construction, fielding knowledge, know-how and methodology that sets him apart. He creative concepts and ideas are nurtured and blossomed through this unique balance.
Listen to Christopher talking about a very special day when he was still working in construction, and came to realize that his destiny was to commit to his Art (video is part of his Artist Profile):
The 'Expanse' Series is the most sublime Artworks we've had in the gallery. Our visitors connection is instantaneous but the works greatest gifts come with time and attention...
Christopher has created something very simply and pure. It relays its surroundings, reflections and our experience back to us. They transform through the day and into the night, taking on different tones and reacting stunningly to any and every light.
Christopher won the Cambridge University Art prize in 2016 with this Artwork.
Cast acrylic creations
A major facet of his 'Place' collections are his stunning cast acrylic creations. They show abstract nature or more realistic scenes with a sense of dimensionality or 3D capability. A multi-staged creative process, involving several applications of paint, heat and the cohesion of casted hard acrylic, presents artworks that break new ground.
This process has been achieved on a major scale. In many separate panels the work is truly unbelivelable, including a master piece of 72 panels for a Texan collector (Read more). More exciting project news to come.....Stay tuned.
Connecting Humanity to Nature.
His common theme is the space between humanity and nature. Christopher is driven by purpose and great vision. To use his art to express the otherwise incommunicable. His standpoint sets him beyond and above the norm. He imagines that in generations from now, elements of the natural world will no-longer exist and his art is a way to continue to share what is lost. Christopher's artwork is a legacy for future generations.
