Our Maroon Bells are part of Aspen's identity and pride. This mountain is picture perfect... And is the most photographed peak in America! Isabelle does much more than just reproduce a place........(Scroll Down)
A journey from reality to abstraction
Isabelle rides a fine line between reality and abstraction: it's easy to recognize real features in her Artwork: Aspen trees, mountains, rivers... Isabelle starts with a very personal and specific inspiration that evolves on the canvas to be highly accessible and non-didactic. Like a great songwriter, the material comes from something specific to her but the mystery and the abstraction allows the connection to reach towards something more universal…so that it can become “Your Song”. Imploring you to participate in the painting with her.
These places will most likely feel familiar and for some, specific. "Your Place".... The intention is that it becomes your special moment or place to you, where-ever that may be.
Her ability to connect to humanity may just be the reason she is the Number 1 mover of Artworks in the history of the gallery.
Comparison side by side
Isabelle has always been inspired by the mountains. The painting is as humbling as the Bells themselves: the 48x60 format she chose gives the work the grand justice is demands.
It's quite fascinating to put side by side a photo of the peak and her work. She has a unique perspective that makes a specific place, everyones.
